If you have digital photographs from the conference suitable for sharing please upload them as .JPG files (zipped together if there are several) here and we will post them on the conference website.

A PDF copy of the corrected abstract book - containing abstracts from Nitesh Mistry (A18) and David Neubauer (C11) - is now available for download.

Access to computer terminals (updated 9th September)

All rooms in New Hall have wired internet access for your laptop. Please see our last email for further details. Those travelling without laptops can use terminals in the Gateway building, across the road from the School of Medicine. WiFi access may also be possible in the School of Medicine but unfortunately no terminals are available there for delegates.

Arriving by train on the 11th? (posted 7th September)

Please get off the train at CUPAR! This is the station before Leuchars, which is effectively closed because of the airshow (see below). We will be using a local taxi company (Williamsons) to take you to St. Andrews New Hall. Please see your email for further instructions.

Edinburgh to St. Andrews bus (updated 7th September)

Coaches will leave Edinburgh for St. Andrews at 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 18:00 and 20:00. Coaches will pick up from the coach park (usually between stands 9-13) which is situated outside domestic arrivals, adjacent to the taxi ranks (see map at the bottom of this document). Coaches should be available at least 30 minutes before departure time. The journey to St. Andrews takes 1 - 1.5 hours, depending upon traffic. A late minibus will collect delayed arrivals from Glasgow and Edinburgh, leaving Glasgow at 20:30 with an expected departure time from Edinburgh (coach park stands 9-13, as above) around 21:30, arriving in St. Andrews after 22:30.

Registrants arriving outside these times, or those wishing to make their own way to St. Andrews, are advised to take the Airlink bus (from stop 4 in the coach park - see map) to Edinburgh Waverley rail station (cost £4-6) and then take the train to Leuchars rail station (timetables available online, two trains per hour, ~1 hour journey with the last two trains at 22:09 and 23:09). It is then a 10 minute taxi ride to St. Andrews.

St. Andrews weather (updated 9th September)

A five day forecast is available here. The social event on Monday afternoon is an outdoor activity in and around St. Andrews - please bring suitable footwear and clothing. The long range forecast suggests that the weather for the conference will be generally dry, with some light rain on Sunday and Monday, temperatures about 17oC and light winds. Not bad for the time of year!

Leuchars AirShow (updated 3rd September)

The Royal Air Force annual airshow in being held at Leuchars on the 11th. of September. This will inevitably increase traffic on the arrival day for our conference. If you are driving to St. Andrews please take this into account and consult the Traffic Scotland website for travel information.

Due to parking restrictions and likely congestion at Leuchars rail station all registrants are recommended to travel to Cupar station (the stop before Leuchars). We will be running a shuttle bus service from Cupar station to St. Andrews.

Posters (posted 17th August)

Our poster boards measure 2 x 1 metres (landscape format) and are designed to take two posters side by side. Therefore please ensure your poster is no more than 1 metre wide. Posters printed in the portrait orientation - if longer than 1 metre - will hang below the bottom of the poster board. Posters will use hook/loop attachments which we will provide.
